Emergency Care
Paws & Claws Animal Hospital has been built and equipped to service emergency and trauma care. When our furry companions are having respiratory difficulties they will not tolerate an oxygen mask. Instead we provide oxygen cages for our pets so they can relax while breathing in additional oxygen. For instance, when our feline friends are having an asthma attack, they will greatly benefit from a tranquil oxygenated environment. We are also equipped to provide extensive and complex emergency surgical procedures such as bloat (twisting of the stomach), removal of the spleen, and removal of objects from the intestinal tract. Paws & Claws Animal hospital is also fully equipped to treat traumatic shock (accidental hit by car). In cases that our friends require additional fluids such as kidney disease or feline urinary obstructions, we provide IV fluid therapy to maintain the blood pressure, replenish their electrolytes and hydrate our pets.
We generally accept emergency cases only during normal business hours. If your pet requires emergency service after hours, please discuss such needs with the veterinarian. If your pet requires intensive care after hours, we will refer you to a near by 24 hour emergency hospital for overnight care. |
